Clicking on Templates in the left hand side of the main CMS website window under the advanced options section, you will notice that you only have one template listed.
It will be the template you selected during the Website Wizard (see fact sheet 1) at the very start of getting a website. If you chose Template 4 at the start then the template that would be listed here would be called Template 4. From here you can create a new template from scratch, or edit your existing one. Click on Template 1 (2, 3 or 4 depending on your original
choice) and choose to 'Edit the Template'. An editor window will
pop-up.
It is somewhat different from the normal editor, in that you do not have to click inside the box to begin the editor, but other than that it is much the same. You can add images, text, hyperlinks and make any changes just like the normal editor, to any section of the template. Note that where the menu was on the left hand side in your normal web pages, here it is actually a dynamic content link and so is the body content on the right. For your web pages to work properly, please leave these dynamic links alone. However, you may also recognise that the whole template is actually set into a table construction. The top bar, where your logo may be, is divided into two
columns. By clicking into the one on the left and then clicking on
the right mouse button, a list of commands will come up, as in the
normal editor.
From here you can change the background colour of the cell, by clicking on cell properties. Another window will pop-up, the cell properties window.
You can adjust the width of the cell in either percentage terms of the whole window, or by pixel width, the same is true of the cell height. You can also add a background image to the cell or change the background colour. Likewise you can change the foreground colour and the border colour and style. As an example, to change the background colour, click on the small window adjacent to the x. After a few moments a colour window will open (please be patient as it might take a short time to load fully).
By clicking on the colour of your choice and then on the ok button, the background colour of the cell changes. If you wanted to turn the background colour off, all that is required is to click on the little x next to background colour, in the cell properties window. By clicking on the various cells within the template and changing the colours you can easily conform the template to your organisation's requirements. You can also format the text of the title bar and colour the legal disclaimer boxes. You must leave the legal disclaimer in place as that is a condition of having the site provided by MySouthWest. Once finished, click on save.
